Florida Gators offensive lineman involved in car accident.
Lyndell Hudson Jr., a transfer from FIU, a redshirt senior offensive tackle for the Florida Gators, skipped fall practice on Wednesday for the second straight day.
A program source claims that Hudson was placed in concussion protocol following an automobile accident. The source said that he is doing well and that it was not a serious mishap.
Florida’s backup to starting right tackle Damieon George is anticipated to be Hudson. Kiyaunta Goodwin, a former right tackle, recently left the team for personal reasons.
“We still have enough ammunition in the chamber to deal with Damieon George.” Jordan Herman and Lyndell are both on your side. In light of Goodwin’s departure, UF offensive coordinator Rob Sale stated, “We’ve got guys there that can play football for us.”
On May 13, Hudson made his final year of eligibility commitment to the Gators. After redshirting in 2018, Hudson played in 38 games for FIU, with 25 starts between 2019 and 22. In 2022, he struggled with a persistent back ailment that restricted his playing time.
In 2020, Pro Football Focus awarded Hudson the highest grade of 82.3 in the run blocking area of any player in his career. According to PFF, he was ranked as the eleventh-best player on FIU’s offence in 2022 and the team’s best pass blocker (among offensive lineman).
Sale remarked of Hudson, “You watch his tape; he has the movement skills that you’re looking for.” “After that, you must have faith in your strategy and figure out how to bring the guys up to speed.” To persuade him to play that manner is our responsibility. However, if you watch his tape, you’ll see that he’s a long, difficult to find guy who can change directions. We therefore anticipate great things from him.
