INJURY UPDATE: After being removed from the pitch, scan reveals that Norwich star player injury is more complex than in…

Johannes Hoff Thorup offers Amankwah Forson injury update

The midfielder for Norwich City lost his balance while putting pressure on Will Hughes of Crystal Palace during the

first half of their 4-0 Carabao Cup loss, and it is feared that he dislocated his shoulder.

On the pitch, Forson received an injection, gas and air before being taken to the ambulance at Selhurst Park, where it

was replaced. Later on, he reappeared with his arm slung.

After the game, Johannes Hoff Thorup said that there was no need to worry about a catastrophic injury. Meanwhile,

Ghanaian football analyst Owuraku Ampofo said on Thursday morning that additional tests on Wednesday revealed

Forson is unlikely to miss any more time than the forthcoming international break.

Later on Thursday afternoon, Thorup will give the most recent report during his pre-Coventry press conference at

Colney.

It was a shoulder-related injury. Of course, you never really know, but when we saw him afterwards, it was a little

better than anticipated,” Thorup said at Selhurst Park following the game.

“We must hold off and observe. We’ll see how it goes after a doctor examines it, but I’m crossing my fingers. It’s

actually a little bit better than I had anticipated, in my opinion.

“If not, someone else needs to step in and do well. We’ll have to wait and see. Tonight’s game demonstrated that

some of the players who haven’t played as much this season were prepared. That is encouraging.

Before giving up shoddy concessions at the other end, City wasted two big chances at crucial points in the game that

would have allowed them to tie the score.

“As for the opportunities, I believe that with the manner we’ve been playing the games and approaching them over

the last few weeks in particular, we will have plenty of opportunities to win.

“It will not be long until we begin to score more than one or two goals in each of the games. That was one area where

the boys excelled.

“It’s more on the defensive end, where we don’t give them too many opportunities; they played well for four periods

of the game, and we might have performed better. I want to reflect on those times and see if there is anything we can

do better.
