Chiefs WR Hollywood Brown’s ‘disappointed’ reaction to injury
The NFL anticipated that the Kansas City Chiefs had found Patrick Mahomes the deep threat he had been lacking for the previous two seasons when they signed wide receiver Marquise Brown, also known as “Hollywood,” in the summer. Hollywood was going to produce those big plays for the Chiefs offence that had been missing since All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill left for the Miami Dolphins.
However, before the sixth-year wide receiver was injured, Chiefs supporters hardly got a chance to see what Hollywood Brown would look like in a Kansas City uniform. Brown hurt his shoulder in the Chiefs’ opening preseason game of the season. The team announced today that Brown will have surgery and will therefore be placed on the injured reserve.
Hollywood Brown used social media to communicate with his fans and followers prior to having surgery.
“When I found out I would require surgery, my initial feelings were disappointment, frustration, and sadness, but they passed after a day or two because of my faith in God knowing that this too shall pass, no matter the amazing chance I had in front of me. That wasn’t God’s intended route for me, but it’s not done yet, and I’m okay with that.
It’s my belief that it’s my responsibility to inform everyone that, regardless of how things are going, they should always cling to their faith and put their trust in God.Having said that, let’s enjoy some fantastic football!
Hollywood Brown hasn’t played a snap for the Chiefs in the regular season yet, but it’s safe to say that their offence will manage without him. On the first night of the season, against Baltimore, at least, that’s how it appeared.
