INJURY UPDATE: Coventry City key player has been sidelined due to an ankle injury…

Following a convincing 3-1 preseason victory over League One Stevenage, Mark Robins was forced to calculate the cost of yet another injury to one of his important Coventry City players.

Just minutes after entering the game, star midfielder Ben Sheaf hobbled out due to what the Sky Blues manager believes to be an ankle injury halfway through the second half. Oliver Dovin, Victor Torp, Raphael Borges Rodrigues, and Haji Wright are with him in the treatment area.

Giving a status report on his injured players, Robins originally said, “I don’t know,” when asked how serious Sheaf’s most recent injury was. When they were pressuring, he simply took his time on a pass, and I believe that just caught him.

He attempted to play the ball with the outside of his foot, and while I don’t know for sure, I believe that one of their players’ studs may have put some pressure on him, turning his ankle somewhat. But it was obvious that he was too uncomfortable to continue.

Wright, on the other hand, had to leave the goalless draw with Getafe on Friday night in Valencia after taking a blow to the ankle. The manager responded, “Haji’s going to be however long he’s going to be,” when asked how long he would probably be out. The impact damage that caused his ankle to turn was. He is not in any discomfort anymore, so we are just waiting for the slight swelling there to go down and go away. I’m hoping he can return soon.

“I have no idea yet” was his response when asked if he will probably miss the start of the season.

Victor Torp, a midfielder, disclosed that he had suffered a groin injury. We will also have to wait for him because he twisted his hip and has a groin issue.

Raphael Borges Rodrigues, the Winger, was present at Stevenage, but he was merely an observer.

Regarding the player who came from Australia’s A-League, Robins said, “He played against Port Vale and hurt his thigh, and these are the things that can happen if you’re not used to the training.”

“Your only option is to give them the best care possible, but they also need to be in shape because if they don’t, they won’t grow properly, so you have to raise them to a level where they can handle the amount of training you put them through. And when you bring in guys from overseas who haven’t experienced the intensity of the work that’s done, that can contribute to the issue.

Last but not least, Oliver Dovin, the new goalie, is recovering from a minor shoulder ailment and should return to practice on Thursday.
