INJURY UPDATE: Kansas City Chiefs key offensive player suffers a horrifying injury at training camp…

The Kansas City Chiefs’ main offensive weapon appeared to have suffered a horrific injury during practice on Wednesday. The Chiefs’ training camp practiced for the fourth time today.

Before the season begins, the Chiefs need to preserve as much depth as possible. Wide receiver Rahsee Rice, a sophomore, may face a suspension due to his involvement in a high-speed collision that occurred in Dallas over Easter weekend.

Q&A with the Kansas City Chiefs at wide out

As was previously mentioned on GH, before August 27th, two more wide receivers could lose their cap positions:

In training camp, two receivers will compete to keep their jobs. For the Chiefs, Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney have underperformed in previous seasons. If the Chiefs traded Toney before August 27th, they would save $2.5 million. It would save them $1.29 million if Moore were traded or cut.

Because of those problems in Kansas City this summer, the Chiefs added a depth receiver who had the physical attributes necessary to be on the 53-man roster.

Justin Watson sustained a horrific foot wound.

Wide receiver Justin Watson reportedly hurt his foot during practice on Wednesday, per a report by KCTV 5:

During the Chiefs’ final session sans protection, Watson made a sliding catch and stayed down on the pitch. Team trainers examined the third-year Chief, who seemed to be examining his lower left leg. A Chiefs official reported that Watson hurt his foot and cornerback Nazeeh Johnson strained his knee after practice.

After walking to the tent independently, 28-year-old Watson—who finished 2023 with 27 receptions for 460 yards—was wheeled up the hill at Missouri Western State University.
