JUST IN: All agreement completed as Coventry city set to sign its latest summer recruit in few hours…

Moore, formerly of Sheffield United, spent his first three years at the Coventry Building Society Arena as Mark Robins’ first choice in goal for the 2021–2022 season. Moore participated in 41 Championship games during his first season with the Sky Blues, with Ben Wilson filling in for the remaining five games.

However, the seasoned stopper lost his starting position in the very next season. Wilson established himself as a mainstay, appearing in 43 league games in England’s second division, while Moore was limited to just three league games.

Wilson stayed between the goalposts at Coventry City until the middle of the 2023–2024 season, when Collins—who signed with the team in the summer of 2023 after spending four years at Barnsley—took his place in goal. However, manager Robins intends to reorganise his goalkeeping staff.

Michael Cooper: Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper has a 'fantastic career ahead of him' - Ryan Lowe - BBC Sport

Moore recently departed the club as a free agent after his agreement ended and joined fellow Championship side Sunderland on a two-year contract, while it has also been suggested that Wilson will seek an exit should the Sky Blues sign a new goalkeeper to the club this summer.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Coventry is interested in signing Plymouth Argyle custodian Michael Cooper, but Premier League team Crystal Palace is a fierce rival. Last month, the 24-year-old turned down a new deal that would have elevated him to the highest salary in the long-standing Pilgrims history.

According to Nixon, Plymouth is willing to sell Cooper this summer and will negotiate a fair transfer fee. According to FootballTransfers, Cooper is presently valued at £1 million, thus incoming manager Wayne Rooney might be able to fetch a seven-figure price for the Englishman.
