Ravens QB Lamar Jackson 'closer' to return from illness

Baltimore — Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the first three days of training camp due to illness.

Although Jackson left the practice area before it was finished, it was clearly appreciated that the current NFL MVP was there for at least part of it.

Todd Monken, the offensive coordinator, stated, “It’s great having him there.” “I’m not tied in to where he’s at at this moment, but it was great to have him back in meetings and on the field.”

After the practice, Coach John Harbaugh was not in the office. Monken did talk, stating that at this early point in camp, Jackson’s absence hasn’t hurt the offense.

“We had all offseason. Lamar was a part of that,” Monken said. “But it was great for the other quarterbacks to get the work.

Last season, Jackson led the Ravens to the AFC Championship Game and won his second MVP award.
