Celtic fan died in crash after ‘boarding the wrong bus’
John Burns reportedly died on Saturday, September 14, following his collision with a car on the M6 close to Carlisle.
The young man, who is thought to be 22 years old, was in the area after boarding the incorrect bus after the Celtic vs.
Hearts game at Glasgow’s Parkhead.
The young man’s grieving relatives and friends have honoured him on social media following his untimely demise.
Someone remarked, “Heartbreaking. I apologise.
Another said, “I apologise. Considering you and your handsome boy.”
“Heartbreaking,” remarked a third. I’m lovin’ you so much.”
In the meantime, a post on The Parkhead Faithful’s Facebook page has asked supporters of the Hoops to give the
young man a minute of applause during tomorrow night’s game.
The post read, “Applause for a minute. On Wednesday, the day his beloved club play in Europe takes place, John
Burns would have turned 23 years old.
On the twenty-third minute, may we please ask everyone to join in and take part in a minute of applause?
“We shall fulfil the requests of the numerous fans and pages that we have observed. As a Celtic family, it would be the
least we could do during this dreadful time.
A fundraiser has been established to assist John’s family in the wake of his passing.
“I’m hoping you all can give something to help John’s family with some unnecessary financial pressure—it’s the last
thing they need when dealing with such a sudden loss,” the GoFundMe page states.
“Every member of John’s family and friends cherished him. He was going to be 23 years old when God cruelly stole
him from us too soon.
“He was loved just for being little John, and he has a beautiful little kid and girlfriend.
“Let’s give him the send-off he deserves.”
