REPORT: The Los Angeles Rams’ 23-Year-Old Pro Bowler Will Miss the Entirety of OTAs
Kyren Williams has had difficulty maintaining his health during his brief time as a member of the Los Angeles Rams. In his first season, Williams hurt his foot during OTAs, missing the majority of training camp. Following their season opener, he sprained his high ankle and missed the following seven games.
In Week 6 of his second season, Williams sprained his high ankle and missed the following four games. He played six of their final seven regular-season games after making a comeback in Week 12. In the Wild Card round, he then suffered a broken hand bone.
Williams was not present when the Rams’ organized practices got underway on Monday.
The Los Angeles Rams running back missed the start of OTAs
Kyren Williams will miss the rest of OTAs after suffering a foot injury during training. He was absent when OTAs began.
Williams received a positive injury update from Sean McVay.
Sean McVay gave an encouraging injury update on Kyren Williams
“It’s nothing to worry about,” McVay said. “He’ll be ready to go for training camp, but there’s a little issue when he was training. And [I’ll] kind of just leave it at that. But nothing to be concerned about.”
The Los Angeles Rams drafted a running back in the 3rd round
In the 83rd pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, Blake Corum was selected by the Rams.
Les Snead didn’t want to overwork Williams, so they drafted Corum.
It’s a competitive league with a 17-game regular season, playoffs, and potentially 18 games in the future. Thus, we’ve always believed that we need as many strong runners as we can muster to avoid completely losing to Kyren, Snead added. “And let’s go try to impose our will. We have one or two, or even three guys that can contribute and keep everyone fresh.”
