ATLANTA (AP) — On Friday, the Atlanta Braves signed utility infielder Luis Guillorme, formerly of the
New York Mets, to a one-year, $1.1 million contract, adding depth to their bench.
Playing second base, shortstop, and third base with the Mets for the previous six seasons, Guillorme, 29,
is 29 years old. In 54 games the previous season, he hit.224. His lifetime batting average is.261.

In 2022, Guillorme made 61 starts at second base, hit.273, and played in a career-high 102 games.
David Fletcher, who was acquired from the Los Angeles Angels on December 8, will go off against
Guillorme for a bench position.
Last week, Atlanta sent left-hander Chris Sale to Boston in exchange for infield prospect Vaughn
Grissom. Sale and the team reached an agreement on a $38 million, two-year contract on Thursday.
In addition, the Braves declared that they had avoided arbitration by signing right-hander Huascar Ynoa
to a one-year contract worth $825,000. After having elbow surgery, Ynoa missed the 2023 season. He
may be able to challenge for the No. 5 place in the rotation or a long relief role.
In 2021, Ynoa started 17 games and finished 4-6 with a 4.05 ERA. However, his season was cut short
after he struck a bench after a subpar performance and broke his right hand. In 2022, he only made two
starts.
