Chiefs Camp Injury Report: Kadarius Toney Returns, Nick Bolton Doesn’t
The Kansas City Chiefs are scheduled to get back up to speed on Monday with a fully padded practice
after taking Sunday off and Saturday off. But, as has been the case all training camp, the squad is short-
staffed while other players recover from injuries.
The biggest story of the day is wide receiver Kadarius Toney’s comeback. On July 31, he departed
practice due to an ankle injury. As Adam Teicher of ESPN tweeted (accompanied by images), Toney is
wearing his helmet and pads when the team plays on Monday.
Justin Watson, a wide receiver, made a partial comeback on Sunday, but Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest
offered further context regarding Watson’s whereabouts during the weekend and the extent of his
Monday practice availability.
“Chiefs WR Justin Watson has helmet and pads this morning and is in the stretch line,” Derrick wrote on
Twitter. “Has looked like he was close, we will see how much he does today.”
On Monday, there was news at the cornerback position once more. Kelvin Joseph, the cornerback, was
sidelined due to a hamstring ailment and did not arrive wearing his helmet. After undergoing off-season
labrum surgery, Jaylen Watson, who was placed back on the PUP list on July 31, is back in a yellow non-
contact jersey and working his way back up to full speed. Watson wore a standard white shirt. jersey on
Sunday, as there was no contact during the whole drill without the use of pads.
Since withdrawing from practice on July 31 due to an elbow injury, linebacker Nick Bolton has yet to
return to the field.
