California (KYMA/KECY, CBS) – For the numerous Willie Mays fans who gathered at Oracle Park on Tuesday to honor the life of this legendary Giants player, it was an emotional day.

To honor the life of Giants legend and Hall of Famer Willie Mays, the City of San Francisco united.

The ceremony honoring the extraordinary legacy of Willie Mays, the “Say Hey Kid,” drew hundreds of admirers.

Karl Colton was one of them, having traveled from Seattle by train to be a part of this unique occasion.

“I’m down here from Seattle to see all of this, to pay tribute to him and enjoy this tribute that all these people are giving to this man,” Colton stated.
