Alcaraz risks missing the US Open. What’s the reason
Third-seeded Carlos Alcaraz arrived to the 2024 US Open after suffering a shock defeat at the hands of 45th-seeded Gaël Monfils in the Cincinnati Masters 1000. His current objective is to overcome that loss and win his second Grand Slam championship in the American Major, having taken home the trophy for the first time in New York in 2022.
Alcaraz had Argentine Francisco Cerundolo, ranked 28th, as his trainer before to making his debut against 188th-ranked Australian Li Tu. Unfortunately, an ankle sprain derailed those intentions.
Reports from the United States state that Alcaraz stopped practice right away after getting hurt, talked with his teammates, and walked off the field to the locker room. It is presently unknown how serious the 21-year-old’s ailment is.
Tuesday, August 27, is set aside for his US Open debut.
Furthermore, 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, a Serbian tennis player, skipped a practice on Friday, 23 August. It was stated that he is having health problems.
