The Chicago White Sox are perhaps the weakest baseball team in the league with a miserable 17-51 record.
They appear to be just as awful as you would expect, and they have the worst record in the league.
While there aren’t many players they could sell for a big sum in return, Luis Robert Jr. is undoubtedly one of those players.
So far this year, the All-Star outfielder hasn’t exactly been his best.
He missed over two months due to a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain that occurred in early April, despite having only played in a few games.
The outstanding centre fielder has been approached by a number of teams over the possibility of obtaining him in a trade, despite his prolonged absence and recent comeback from the injured list.
According to @JonHeyman, Luis Robert Jr. has at least SIX suitors: NL: Braves, Phillies, and Dodgers. B/R Walk-Off tweeted, “AL- Royals, Mariners, and Blue Jays,” citing MLB insider Jon Heyman as a source.
Robert is making cuts.182/.237/.491 with a.728 OPS, but because to the hip problem, he has only played in 55 at-bats.
As the season progresses, his numbers will undoubtedly rise, and he will still be a young, intriguing building block with the potential to hit 38 home runs and steal 20 bases, just like he did the season before when he was selected to his first All-Star Game.
His resume is further enhanced by two awards, a Silver Slugger (2023) and a Gold Glove (2020).
According to reports, Robert is being pursued by the three dominant teams in the National League: the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves.
Given how badly the Braves’ offence has performed this year, they are the team in most desperate need of him.
His profile is one that the Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays most certainly need, but the Kansas City Royals would benefit from him just as much.
If the White Sox choose to trade Robert to another team, we will have to wait and watch who comes out on top.
