TRANSFER NEWS: Norwich set to finalize a deal with Burnley talented key player…

That is according to Daily Express columnist Charlie Gordon, who says Norwich City, Sunderland, and Leeds United are all interested in signing the 27-year-old.

Despite playing a key role in Burnley’s promotion-winning campaign under Vincent Kompany in 2022/23 and being given the number 10 shirt ahead of the Clarets’ return to the top flight, Benson only made eight Premier League appearances as they were relegated last season, seven of which came as a substitute.

He was once again picked as a replacement for Scott Parker’s first competitive game in charge against Luton Town on Monday night, and he watched the entire game from the bench as Burnley won 4-1.

The Angola international, who made his debut for his country in June, does not appear to be content with sitting out the most of another season, which has piqued the curiosity of some prominent Championship clubs, including Norwich.

Fan commentator weighs in on Norwich City’s interest in Manuel Benson.

Zeke Downes, a Norwich fan analyst for Football League World, has spoken out about the Canaries’ interest in Benson, claiming that he would be delighted if the winger joined the club before the summer transfer window closes.

“I have watched a bit of Manuel Benson, and I would be happy with it,” Downes told reporters.

“I understand that Burnley did not perform well last season, but I believe he has a lot of promise.

“They have a well-stocked team of attacking players. They appear to be one of the league’s elite teams, and I do not believe Benson would be in the starting eleven.

That seems like a great option for us. He’s at a great age and has had a terrific start to his career, but he would definitely benefit from a run of games, which I believe we can provide.

Norwich City urged to sign Burnley winger Manuel Benson

Benson stood out in the Championship two seasons ago, and at the age of 27, he should be at the peak of his career, so it’s no wonder that he wants to play for a club where he’ll be a regular starter.

Norwich City may use a few attacking reinforcements.

Following Adam Idah’s permanent departure to Celtic, and amid rumours linking Abu Kamara and Jon Rowe with transfers away from the club, Norwich could benefit from adding another attacking player before the transfer season closes.

The Canaries’ manager, Johannes Hoff Thorup, would likely want to add Benson to his options out wide without losing Kamara or Rowe, with the latter having already declared that if Norwich does not receive a suitable offer this summer, he must satisfy his contractual responsibilities.
