Many players from the Ohio State football program play in the NFL for different teams. They have
rosters full of players on several teams every year. The New York Jets have more former Buckeyes on
their roster than most other teams in the NFL. They appear to adore Ohio State’s method of player
preparation.
The Jets had three former Ohio State football players on their roster going into training camp. In the
third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, they selected Jeremy Ruckert. Now that Aaron Rodgers is back and
healthy, he will play a significant role in the offense.
Jalyn Holmes, a former Buckeye defensive lineman, is one of them. Since joining the NFL in 2018,
Holmes has currently served on four separate teams. Compared to what many Ohio State football fans
anticipated, he has enjoyed a far lengthier NFL career.
Garrett Wilson is the best Buckeye on the Jets roster. Wilson, the 10th overall choice in the 2022 NFL
Draft, is already the top receiver for the Jets. At just 24 years old, he is already their top pass catcher and
may be their finest offensive player. Over the weekend, New York added another former Ohio State
football player. Kendall Sheffield, a cornerback, was signed. Having already played for six different clubs
in his brief NFL career, Sheffield has moved about the league a little. He is currently a member of his
seventh squad.
Sheffield has never participated in a real NFL game.

since his time in Atlanta in 2021. A portion of that can be attributed to injury, and another portion to
inefficiency. He is running out of opportunities to stick with a squad and contribute plays at the age of
28.
Sheffield has the chance to prove he is good enough to play with the Jets, so perhaps he can take
advantage of it. He has to work on that a lot.
