Patrick Mahomes’ Mother Shares Concerning Family News
The Kansas City Chiefs are in good shape as they begin their quest to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls, and they are currently sitting at 1-0.
Sadly, not everything is going as planned. Prior to the team’s Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ mother recently disclosed some difficult family news.
Patrick’s grandfather, Randi Mahomes, revealed on X that her father Randy is ill and in the hospital. Randi Mahomes requested well wishes and prayers.
Earlier this year, the mother of the three-time Super Bowl MVP threw a family get-together for all of her children and grandchildren and also spent time with her father.
At the age of 72, Mahomes’ maternal grandmother passed away in April 2023.
While Patrick dominates on the pitch, Randi, his mother, is in charge of maintaining the family’s unity. According to Instagram, she regularly plans get-togethers for the family while also attending Patrick’s games and supporting the Chiefs as a whole.
Randi said in a podcast interview last summer that Patrick would give up football if he thought it was keeping him away from his kids too much. Patrick values his family and the people around him, so he doesn’t necessarily feel forced to play as long as Tom Brady did.
News of this kind is always distressing, but perhaps Chiefs supporters will come together to support the Mahomes family like they always have, which will help grandfather Mahomes recover.
