Kelly Clarkson Welcomes Daughter River Rose

The singer announced on Twitter on Saturday that she had welcomed her first child, her first with husband Brandon

Blackstock, on Thursday, June 12.

“On June 12th, our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived!” Three-two Clarkson tweeted. “I appreciate all of your

best wishes, everyone! Me and Brandon are ecstatic right now!

Four weeks after Clarkson and Blackstock wed in a small-scale ceremony in Tennessee, the pregnancy was officially

confirmed, capping weeks of pregnancy rumours and some subtle clues from the soon-to-be mother.

And if the morning sickness threw her for a loop, there was one thing Clarkson was positive about: she was expecting

a daughter.

“I will definitely have a girl. I’m manifesting it! Long before she was formally informed of the gender of her unborn

child, she joked in November, “And when I have a girl, you’re gonna be like, ‘That chick knew it!'”

She admitted in January that her concerns were valid. “I was aware of it! With all of this vomiting, only a girl could

cause this much drama, she tweeted.

Fortunately, if Savannah and Seth’s father, Clarkson, had been taken aback by the news that they were expecting a

son, the couple would already have a name.

“To be honest, we chose the same name for both a boy and a girl,” she said to Ellen DeGeneres. You won’t figure it

out. The name is arbitrary. However, it’s not like “Blue Jazz.” It’s not going to be a crazy name.”
