The 30-year-old former Everton and Chelsea midfielder is expected to leave Kenilworth Road this summer after an outstanding personal season under Rob Edwards. According to Alan Nixon of The Sun, the Hatters are looking for reinforcements to replace Ross Barkley, who has previously been linked with interest in the 26-year-old Sky Blues star.

In order to launch an instant promotion campaign and make a quick return to the Premier League, manager Edwards is trying to bolster his team. Sheaf, meantime, has reportedly drawn interest from Fulham and recently promoted Ipswich Town. If he stays at Coventry this summer, is anticipated to be appointed the 2024–2025 Mark Robins captain.

However, based on today’s rumors, Luton is aware that they will need to make an offer that exceeds £10 million and “top wages” in order to entice Sheaf to leave the CBS Arena.

According to today’s report, “Luton are prepared to make an initial bid for Ben Sheaf, a midfielder for Coventry, as they prepare to lose Ross Barkley.”

“The Hatters intend to invest a significant portion of their relegation parachute payments in the former Arsenal prospect. Luton is aware that in order to stand a chance, they will need to spend more than £10 million and pay top dollar to persuade Sheaf to switch Championship teams.
