Cincinnati Bengals Mourn the Death of Bill Tobin
Cincinnati — Bill Tobin, a longtime player personnel executive for the Bengals, passed away, the team said on Friday.
In 2003, Tobin, then eighty-three, began working with the Bengals as a scouting consultant. He remained employed in the personnel division until 2022.
Mike Brown, the president of the Bengals, stated in a statement, “He was a true NFL success story.” He was a kind man, and I was glad to have him as a friend. I listened to everything Bill said. I just assumed that to be so. He was able to predict athletes’ future potential. All I would need to know if he stated the individual was a good player is that he was a good player. He will be missed.

In addition, Bill Tobin was the Colts’ (1994–1996) general manager, the Bears (1987–1992), and the Lions’ (2001–2002) director of player personnel.
