The San Antonio Spurs are enjoying a very successful offseason. Last season, they finished second to last
in the Western Conference with a record of 22-60, despite the fact that 2023 first overall pick and
Rookie of the Year, Victor Wembanyama, lived up to his high expectations. Despite another
disappointing season, they did see improvement from many of their key players, such as Devin Vassell

the bench, scoring 15.7 points per game and providing good defense.
Additionally, the Spurs are stuck at forward. This is because they acquired Johnson, Sochan,
Champagnie, and Barnes in addition to dealing for Barnes. Harrison Ingram, Sidy Cissoko, and others
on the roster. Johnson might play
even less next season as the Spurs aim to give Cissoko, their second-round choice from the previous
year, greater playing time. It could be better for San Antonio to move Johnson before the upcoming

Zach Collins

Zach Collins is another Spur who might be leaving the Alamo City. Collins had a difficult shooting season
the previous year, with his lowest three-point and field goal percentages since signing with the Spurs in
the summer of 2021. Additionally, he did not mesh well with Wembanyama when Gregg Popovich used
Sochan as the point guard and attempted to play both of them in the frontcourt. Collins eventually saw
his position on the bench reversed after making 29 starts. Collins played in 69 games last season, which
was the second-most of his career, which was a plus. Despite having sustained numerous injuries over

time. He has participated in 98 games over the course of his two seasons, averaging just 15.8 minutes per
game. Wesley is unlikely to see a lot of playing time in the upcoming season because the Spurs have
added two more guards to their roster and believe that Malaki Branham is the more advantageous of the
two first-round picks in 2022.
