Trade news: Milwaukee Brewers on the verge of adding a new pitcher..

Brewers Could Trade For White Sox’s All-Star ‘Likely To Be Traded’ This Offseason

The Milwaukee Brewers were notorious for lacking starting pitchers going into the 2024 season, but they

had an opportunity to change that by the 2025 season.

The management staff of the Milwaukee Brewers has to address the team’s limited rotation even though

they lead the National League Central. Thankfully, the Brew Crew should go after one of the top young

pitchers in the majors who is probably going to sign with a new team this winter.

Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report wrote on Sunday, “It is possible that the (Chicago) White Sox will

extend (Garrett) Crochet this winter, but they already gave that a try and their failure is precisely why

the lefty ended up in trade talks.” Thus, unless they choose to try again; it appears that this winter,

crochet will inevitably make a comeback.”

In 118 1/3 innings over 23 games this season, Crochet has a 3.19 ERA, a 162-to-30 strikeout-to-walk

ratio, a.204 batting average against, and a 1.01 WHIP.

Due in large part to a rumor that he would not pitch in the postseason unless he could also agree to an

extension with the club he was traded to, the 25-year-old was notable for not being moved at this

summer’s trade deadline.

Adding Crochet to the rotation would be a huge step in the right direction for Milwaukee if they want to

strengthen it.

Because he is under team control through 2026, the southpaw might be a mainstay of the lineup for

many years to come, giving the Brew Crew one among the top young hurlers in the game going forward.
