Tragic News: Bulldogs are facing a major setback as the team sidelined it’s premiere player indefinitely despite..

Josh Addo-Carr’s hamstring injury sustained against the Knights was fully disclosed by scans, meaning he will be out of the Bulldogs lineup for at least the next few months.

Early in his team’s 32-2 victory, Addo-Carr left the field, and he was declared ineligible to play for the rest of the game.

Bulldogs football coach Phil Gould said on Saturday afternoon that Addo-Carr would miss eight to ten weeks due to a high-grade tear, as discovered by scans.

This will be Addo-Carr’s second extended spell on the sidelines in as many seasons. He missed a significant chunk of last season with an ankle injury.

It also ends any hope Addo-Carr had of rejoining the Blues’ Origin side later in the season.

It’s a heavy blow for the Bulldogs, who put on a clinic against the Knights, scoring six unanswered tries at a soggy McDonald Jones Stadium on Friday night. Addo-Carr scored a first-half double.

Nine’s sideline reporter Danika Mason said he suffered the injury right in front of her, and immediately called out to the sidelines: “I’ve done my hammy”.

Addo-Carr told Mason after the game that the injury wasn’t as serious as he initially believed, but the scans have undoubtedly shown him to be mistaken.

“It is all right, I’ve done this one before, a little strain on the hamstring but I’m all good,” he replied.

For the duration of the game, Addo-Carr gave the Bulldogs much-needed support from the sidelines with a large ice pack wrapped to his leg.

Addo-Carr had been overlooked for Michael Maguire’s NSW Origin team.

He said it was “upsetting” to end his night early.

“It was a tough game – I put so much effort in from the start of the game and to fall short like that is upsetting,” he said.

“But, back on the horse and go to my rehab and get back with the boys.”
