Detroit Lions C Frank Ragnow addresses retirement rumors, speculation

Detroit Lions' Frank Ragnow breaks silence after unusual throat injury

Frank Ragnow, a center for the Detroit Lions, has been the subject of a lot of rumors and speculation about his potential retirement in the near future. He has stated that he will play in 2024, but what about after that? Ragnow made comments following the Lions’ loss in the NFC Championship Game that sounded like a guy who might retire, and earlier this offseason, Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda rumored that Ragnow might retire after the 2024 campaign. Ragnow discussed these remarks after the playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and Rogers clarified that Ragnow “isn’t retiring. It’s not something he’s done.”

even thinking about it.

After the 49ers loss, Ragnow expressed frustration in response to the remarks made. It was a little irritating. I just mentioned that I would need some time to recover the day following the game. It was sort of frustrating, but it is what it is. That was my aim, and then it went off.

In an interview with Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Ragnow talked about allowing his body to heal and spending time with his family during the summer.

“A lot of time with my baby and my wife and my family back home,” added the father. “I spent a week in remote northern Manitoba, kind of ice-fishing and spending a lot of time by myself. Now,

I’m totally concentrated. I took a little time off and realized that I had never really allowed myself time off during the offseason. I’ve always been a little, well, anxious, but it’s always like you have to go, you have to go, you have to go. And this year, I really did take some time to heal—both physically and mentally—before I started rolling.”

“It feels great,” Ragnow continued. “I feel better than I have in a long time. I have had the best offseason of my life thus far. I feel like I’m clicking right now because I really jumped into a lot of stuff to take care of my body. The objective is to even thinking about it.

maintain a constant course throughout the season.”

Not surprisingly, Ragnow thinks the way the previous season concluded inspired him even more, and he intends to seal the deal by 2024.

According to Ragnow, “it’s a huge motivating factor.” It’s really annoying, and I make an effort to recall how awful that felt as much as possible. I can’t speak for everyone, but I believe that a lot of males are considering it. We all returned and are prepared to go, but we should have done it in the first place. It’s really thrilling.”

Ragnow, who is only 28 years old, still have two years remaining on his contract after 2024, and at the top of his game. He should stay here for a few more years, at most, until something comes up.
