Marc Leonard’s availability has been enquired about by Plymouth Argyle and Huddersfield Town to
Brighton and Hove Albion, according to Football Insider.
After managing to hold onto their Championship status at the end of the previous season, the Pilgrims
will be attempting to avoid relegation once more.
It won’t be an easy feat, though, as some supporters and commentators are dubious about Wayne
Rooney’s selection after his utterly disastrous season-long stint at Birmingham City.
However, they might offer themselves a chance to perform well in the second tier for the 2024–2025
campaign and possibly beyond if they can hold onto Morgan Whittaker and other important players.
Meanwhile, Huddersfield was demoted to League One and will be looking to improve their own
returning to the second rung upon initial request.
That won’t be a simple feat, though, as the Terriers haven’t played well since Neil Warnock left, and the
team needs to turn things around after losing a lot of games in the previous two years.
But they might strengthen their roster by adding Leonard, who proved to be a valuable asset while on
loan at League One team Northampton Town last season. His performances enabled Jon Brady’s team,
who had been promoted from League Two, to record a strong third-tier finish.

Other teams may be interested in him, thus the Cobblers might not be able to get him another loan
arrangement.
Marc Leonard continues to attract interest amid Brighton exit links
Football Insider has revealed that Plymouth and Huddersfield have both made inquiries in an attempt to
put themselves in a strong position to close a deal for the Brighton player.
Wrexham, Oxford United, and Birmingham City are the other three teams vying for the midfielder, who
may fetch up to £300,000 plus add-ons.
For many teams, including the U’s who just gained promotion to the Championship and might have
some cash to spend as a result, it might make him a cheap signing.
Championship teams may have a better chance of signing Marc Leonard
If Leonard has a choice of clubs to join, he will undoubtedly want to prioritize playing time.
He might, nevertheless, believe that he has already shown his mettle in the third division, and in light of
this, he might be eager to go to the second division and play frequently there.
He can definitely step up a notch, especially given how well he performed at Northampton the previous
season.
He might get a chance to start at Plymouth because Adam Forshaw isn’t likely to stay with the team
indefinitely.
He might also get the chance to start at Oxford, depending on Des Buckingham’s preferred formation.
He could start beside Cameron Brannagan in a 4-2-3-1 scheme. Despite the fact that Buckingham could
be eager to stick with 4-1-4-1 given the success it gave him late in the previous term.
