Justin Jefferson, a wide receiver with the Minnesota Vikings, and the team reached a four-year contract extension on Monday. It is said to be the highest-paid deal in the NFL for a non-quarterback.
ESPN reports that Jefferson will receive a guaranteed $110 million in a deal worth up to $140 million, with more than $88 million due at signing.
Entering his final season of his rookie contract, Jefferson has amassed the most receiving yards in league history through a player’s first four seasons. Earlier this spring, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah stated that the two parties were “unbelievably close” to agreeing to an extension last summer.
Despite missing seven games due to a hamstring injury in the previous season, Jefferson nevertheless finished with 1,074 receiving yards. The 22nd overall pick in the 2022 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year the LSU draft in 2020.
