A month and a half ago, the Chicago Bulls’ season came to an end as they were defeated by the Miami Heat in the NBA play-in round.
It was only right that the season would conclude in a dismal way because it had been a bad one. The Bulls had a strong start in Miami, going up 11-6 early on with a few three-pointers, but from that point on, it was all Heat. After Miami’s 112-91 victory, they were defeated by the Boston Celtics, who have since advanced to the NBA Finals.
The Bulls led 11–6 at the half, but gave up a big run and lost by 20 points in the second quarter. It was actually quite good work by the Bulls to weather the storm when they fell behind by 20 points. After Chicago rallied and cut the lead to seven points in the third quarter, the Heat regained momentum and won handily.
The Bulls had a 39-43 record at the end of the regular season. In their first play-in tournament game, they did manage to defeat the Atlanta Hawks, but they were once again eliminated from the postseason. Chicago could have advanced to the playoffs with just one more win if they had won the play-in tournament in Miami, but they were unable to complete the task.
So, the Bulls will play for another season. Things went rather well after they started 5-14, but they are still far from appeasing this demanding fan base. Making it this far was an accomplishment, as nobody really thought this club would make it to the postseason in the early going, but the fan base is demanding more.
Although the Bulls front office has stated that they plan to make some changes during the offseason, supporters will only trust what they see.
The Bulls’ top priority should be to select a high pick in the NBA Draft. In only a few weeks, the draft will take place, and Chicago will pick eleventh overall. Devin Carter is one name that has been mentioned as a possibility for that selection, and the Bulls would be a perfect fit for him.
In Chicago, Devin Carter would be well at home.
Devin Carter would undoubtedly be a nice option for the Bulls if he is still available at pick #11. Carter played two seasons with Providence basketball and one season with South Carolina basketball before wrapping up his collegiate career. Each season he improved, and this last year was particularly significant for him.
Devin Carter had a fantastic season, averaging 35.3 minutes per game and slightly under 20 points each game. In addition, he averaged 3.6 APG and 8.7 RPG. Carter has remarkable rebounding stats considering his small stature of 6’2″.
Given that he is a young player and would get along well with other young players in the Bulls’ core, like as Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White, Carter would be a perfect match for the team. Carter is a guy who can go get a basket for his team when necessary. He is also a reliable three-point shooter, which is really important for Chicago.
Having a player with long-range shooting skills is crucial because the Bulls have been among the worst three-point shooting teams in recent years. Devin Carter demonstrated his shooting prowess last season, shooting 37.7% from beyond the arc.
Overall, Carter is a bright prospect, and it wouldn’t be shocking if the 11th pick went to him in Chicago.
