Trade news: A deal of $3.8 million,Hull City expressed strong interest in signing of a 22 year old talented star from..

After spending the 2022–2023 season on loan with the team and signing a permanent contract ahead of the previous campaign, Reynolds recently finished his second season with Belgian signing Westerlo. With 34 games, the 22-year-old defender helped Westerlo secure an 11th-place finish and a trip to the Belgian European playoffs.

Due to the fullback’s impressive exploits in Belgium, clubs in England, France, and Turkey are reportedly considering making a move for the American. According to sources who spoke with GOAL, Hull City is among the several English teams that dispatched scouts to observe Reynolds’ most recent displays. Hull, who came in just short of eighth in the Championship, have subsequently initiated negotiations on a possible transfer.

A Ligue 1 team has contacted Westerlo to discuss a trade, and Turkey is also attracting attention. Because Turkish millionaire Oktay Ercan owns Westerlo, the top teams in his native country are watching the team closely.

Reynolds, who has a ton of senior USMNT experience under his belt, is expected to play a significant role for the United States at the Olympics this summer.

The 22-year-old defender made his debut against Northern Ireland in a friendly in 2021, and he has since won seven caps for his country. Against St. Kitts & Nevis in the group stage of the 2023 Gold Cup, he scored his first goal as a senior player for the USMNT.

Reynolds is anticipated to lead the U.S. U-23s’ right-back lineup this summer at the the group stage at the Paris Olympics, which kicks up on July 24, where they will play France, New Zealand, and Guinea.

Reynolds, a graduate of FC Dallas’ academy, signed with the team in November 2016 at the age of 19, making history. As part of his MLS breakthrough, he made his first-team debut in May 2019 and was traded to Roma in 2021. After making just eight appearances for Roma overall, the defender was loaned out to Kortrijk and Westerlo. This past July, he moved permanently to the latter for an estimated €3.5 million ($3.8 million).

Reynolds’ transfer to Roma was fiercely fought because the Serie A team was in a bidding war to sign him. Reynolds ultimately chose Roma, in part because Paulo Fonseca gave him a route to the first team. However, Fonseca quit the team a few months later, and Reynolds failed to make an impression under Jose Mourinho prior to his stints in Belgium.

A friendly is scheduled for the U.S. U-23 team as they gear up for their impending Olympic campaign. On June 11 in Kansas City, they will meet Japan as players try to secure their places in the Olympic team.

Reynolds was listed by head coach Gregg Berhalter of the senior team as a player who was on the outside looking in for the June camp roster for friendlies against Brazil and Colombia. But Berhalter concluded that more playing time with the U.S. U-23s would be more beneficial for Reynolds, Kevin Paredes, and Aidan Morris.
